AVG Free is the best free anti-virus around…

Answer by David C
get rid of ccleaner. its useless. get AVG free. to increase performance, i would disable non-essential services from services.msc. there are lots of websites around which can guide you through that.

Which, Defragment program you use, the one from the computer that window’s XP/Vista brings, is the best one out there. But i really don’t recommand any anti viruses, truthly.. they all suck.

To increase your computer memory, buy a external harddrive and connect it to your computer usb, and it’s another harddrive. search it up at tigerdirect.com/ or any where eles.

Reader Katie M is featured on our reader mail page here. She’s been busy recently. Here’s the email she just sent:

Hi Krista,

I want to give you a progress update on me. Years ago, you taught me to do a pull up. A real, big-girl pull up. I felt invincible, like I could take on the world. It was a major life changer because I was always the last girl to be picked for teams in PE class in school. I was an uncoordinated nerd.

So, in the natural progression of things, I began powerlifting. My last meet — yesterday — I got a 340-lb. squat, 175-lb. bench press and 300-lb. deadlift. I’m in the 132-lb. weight class (between 123 and 132 lbs.).

I just like to keep you in the loop since you started this insanity. Here’s the video:

The squat is ugly because the guy running the monolift (the contraction that holds the squat bar) wasn’t paying attention, but the lift was still good, so no harm. And I need to work on the rounded back on my deadlift. Still, not shabby for a nerd, I think.

Thank you for everything,
Katie

Watched Drew hit another PR at 124 in the snatch.  130 is right around the corner.  His clean and jerk will dominate in the near future.  A light 85 that will grow into a beast.

By now most of you know that the Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl XLV. A big congrats to those guys! Aaron Rodgers and Packers defense were great pretty much the whole game. Rodgers threw 3 touchdowns and the Packer’s D forced 3 turnovers, all of which led to points. Big Ben had a streak [...]

Folks,

Anthony Hernandez, who is competing at the Arnold during the Friday session, has generously proposed two prizes for USA Lifters at the competition.
He is offering it in memory of his best friend Specialist C. Thomas Cotter, who died while serving the Army.

The name of the Prize is called, Double-Or-Bust, and the purpose of the prize is to reward and acknowledge excellence in the snatch portion of the lift. In
order to claim the prize a lifter (male or female) must exceed respectively the current all time performance in the snatch as done by

1.Tara Nott who lifted 82.5 at 47.58 or  173.392% of her body weight. The lift was done on 7/22/2000 and won her a Gold medal in the Olympics.
2.Tim McRae who lifted 135 at 63.79 or  211.632% of B. The lift was performed on 5/8/1993.
So here are the basic rules:

1. The lifter must be a US citizen.
2. Lifter (Male/Female) must exceed by at least 1kg the current best US snatch as a percentage of bodyweight.
3. The lifter must post a total.
4. Tie-Breakers -  If there are ties within a weight division the lighter lifter wins. If there are ties across weight divisions the heaviest lifter wins.

THE MONEY: 750 USD for the female lifter that can break the record and 750 USD for the Male lifter that can break the record for a total of 1500 USD.
If no lifter (male/or female) claims the prize, a consolation non-profit donation will go to the general prize pool of the Arnold of at least 0 for the
men and 0 for the women.

The award will be offered annually at the Arnold Weightlifting Championships and each year more money will be added.

Below are the numbers you will need to put up. All numbers were rounded up to the nearest Kilogram.

Men

56      118
62      131
69      146
77      163
85      180
94      199 WORLD RECORD
105    222 WORLD RECORD
>105  >222 WORLD RECORD

Women

48    84
53    93
58    102
63    110
69    121
75    131
>75   >131

We are aware that this prize will be extremely difficult for heavier lifters. For the women, all of the lifts are below world records.

These are tough numbers to exceed but keep in mind that Tara Nott did it and so did Tim McRae! Mr. McRae’s record is over 18 years old!

Every year or so I try and get a handle on how big the internet is. The numbers are staggering. So big that it’s hard to fathom some of them. But it’s enlightening, nonetheless, to see all of the facts and figures.

One of the first places I started was at InternetWorldStats. According to their numbers, Facebook had 518 million users as of August 2010, the most recent number on this website.

Checking Google I came across an interactive chart that shows“Internet users as percentage of population” and gives you a list of countries so you’re able to compare them. In this chart, over 75% of the US are on the internet.

I’m also curious to see how much internet traffic is made up email. In 2010, there were 107 TRILLION emails sent. The Royal Pingdom also has a list of other current stats, including the fact that almost 9 of 10 emails were spam. Yikes!

Checking Facebook’s own stats is an interesting learning experience. Among other things, we find that the average user creates 90 pieces of content each month – that’s an average of three a day!

The size of the world wide web is demonstrated in real-time with WorldWideWebSize.com, which tracks the number of web pages indexed by various search engines.

And finally, this Mashable article looks at the number of videos that were uploaded and viewed on YouTube in 2010.

Amazing stuff. The video numbers continue to grow. Whether or not you’re finding a way to work video into your marketing mix at tradeshows or otherwise, you can’t help but admit that your audience is consuming online video in a big way.
